BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical Phoenix Theatre reviews
Depeche Mode never disappoints
I was sitting about 15 feet from the stage, lucky enough to get tickets in the pool circle area. The Betty Boop Musical show at the Hollywood Bowl was electrifying and exciting, just like that moment almost two decades ago. Peter, Bjorn, and John started the night with great energy and good music, getting the crowd dancing in their seats. The band and crowd's incredible energy had me on my feet all night, with not a single bad moment. The night passed by much too quickly, my only regret being that Dave Gahan had been having voice problems leading up to the show. BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical hit the stage after a short break, and there wasn't a single person who remained in their seat. They started with songs from the new album and transitioned into crowd favorites like "Fly on the Windscreen" and "Somebody". I'm looking forward to seeing the band again in Santa Barbara on Thursday night, 19 years after my first BOOP! experience.
